The continued growth of the Collection is vital in order for it to maintain the breadth and depth necessary both to support campus curricula, particularly the Hellenic Studies Program, and to remain a national and international resource for research in the field of Hellenic studies. The addition of old and new books, journals, newspapers, government documents, pamphlets, maps, dissertations, etc. in a variety of languages permits the Collection to support the broad framework of analysis necessary for the study and understanding of all phases of Hellenism. The Curator, in collaboration with other University Library faculty, will continue to build and enhance the Collection in all formats through purchase, donation, and exchange. Potential donors of materials are encouraged to contact the Collection Curator.
In addition to growth, a top priority for the Collection is the establishment of a Library Research Fellowship Program to enable both budding and senior scholars outside the Sacramento region to enjoy sustained access to this wealth of material in support of their academic endeavors while in residence for varying periods of time.
Due to deep, ongoing funding cuts to higher education in California, external resources in support of our mission are required to supplement those provided by the University Library. We invite financial and in-kind contributions to help ensure
the preservation and continued growth of the Tsakopoulos Hellenic
Collection. To make a financial contribution directly, mail
your tax-deductible contribution made out to "University Foundation at Sacramento State"
with "Hellenic Book Fund" in the memo line to the Curator at the address below,
or visit https://webapps1.csus.edu/ua_development/form1.asp and select "Hellenic Book Fund" under gift designation.
In addition, you can leave a legacy to the Tsakopoulos Hellenic Collection by making it part of your estate plans through planned giving. Please contact the Collection Curator for details.
