Center for
Teaching & Learning
During the summer of 2001 this facutly Center was relocated to Library 4026,
which formerly housed the Graduate Studies Room. CTL is destined to become a
one-stop shopping area for Faculty Development opportunities. The Center
currently works with faculty in relation to several grant programs including the Research
and Creative Activity Awards, Pedagogy Enhancement Awards, and
Visiting Scholars Program.
Graduate Studies Area
This area along the north-eastern wall of the outside room 4026 is reserved for serious
study by graduate students preparing their thesis research. The lockers are assigned to
those graduate students who have advanced to candidacy and are actually writing their
thesis. Inquire at the Circulation Desk about availability.
Silent Study Area
Signs throughout the Library designate several noise level zones:
Silent Study, Quiet Study and Group Study. By "Silent" we mean "No talking
or other noise permitted." We ask users to find a zone that is compatible with their
particular activity and to respect others who are researching or studying. The area on 4
NORTH is the largest Silent Study area in the building, and usually is the quietest study
area.
