Access to theses, projects, and dissertations written by Sacramento State graduate students is provided in three ways: print, microfiche, and (as of Fall 2009) electronically. Since the Fall 2009 semester, graduate students have been required to submit their departmentally-approved thesis, project, or dissertation electronically on ScholarWorks.
Theses manuscripts are submitted to the Graduate Studies office on campus and brought to the Library which arranges for binding. The Library sends the materials out to be bound by a commercial bindery. These bound theses, projects, and dissertations are cataloged and shelved by call number on the Lower Level and circulate. Some bound theses with accompanying media may be shelved in the Library Media Center.
Microfiche copies of theses (from 1978 to Summer 2008) are available in the Microforms Collection, housed in the Library Media Center on 1 South and may be located using the call number Microfiche 009985 and the author's last name, e.g., Microfiche 009985 Martinez. Reader/printer machines provide a means of reading or obtaining hard copies of microfiche theses.
